CALIFORNIA 2011
Every year there is an international high school science and engineering fair in different cities. The Queen has been a judge for about ten years and the King just became a judge last year. The contest in the last few years has been held in San Jose, Atlanta, Albuquerque and Reno. This year ISEF (Intel International Science and Engineering Fair) was held in Los Angeles. The King and Queen have not been to Los Angeles for about 10 years so we looked forward to going.
This was also the 100th anniversary of the Bay to Breakers Race that is held in San Francisco - always the weekend after the Intel contest. We have done the race the last 3 years and decided to do it again.
Our plan was to fly into LA, judge the science fair, rent a car and drive up the coast and stop at the Hearst Castle and then go to San Francisco and fly back from there. We stopped in Cambria, a neat little hippy town on the coast and Santa Cruz where we had stayed a few years ago.
