TEL AVIV 4
The next day Morgan and Iliana went off on their own and we went to Jaffa to meet our friend Muriel for lunch. We got there early and saw a tour of the old city so we joined. This was the original gate to the old city of Jaffa.
Simon the Tanner, who appears in the Acts of the Apostles book of the New Testament, had a house in Jaffa, where Saint Peter stayed during his missionary.
We met Muriel in her favorite restaurant in the old city - Aladin. The restaurant overlooks the old Jaffa harbor. We had lots of salad and a fish.
We spent the afternoon at the Tel Aviv Museum. In one room there was a docent tour and all the people on the tour were young women with children.
This is the Queen sitting in a room with a lot of fans. This was an art installation.
This was the Marc Rich wing of the museum. Marc Rich was a commodities trader that was sent to jail for tax evasion. He was a controversial presidential pardon recipient by President Clinton. Some people who were recipients of gifts gave them back or took their name off of buildings.
Right outside the museum was a large dog park.
Traffic in Tel Aviv is like in any other large city.
The Israeli election was during our visit and Morgan who is a dual citizen got to vote.
For dinner on Yom HaShoah we could not find any restaurant open. We went to a drug store and bought some trail mix bars and drinks.
We had a beautiful dinner at the fountain on Dizengoff.
