Las Vegas - Reno
The Queen judges two high school science fairs each year. One is the old Westinghouse High School Science Fair which is now sponsored by Intel Corporation and take place in Washington DC in March. The other one is called ISEF (Intel International Science and Engineering Fair) and alternates between the east coast and west coast each year and takes place in May. This year (2009) the contest was going to be held in Reno, NV from May 13 -15. We decided to attend and fly to San Francisco a couple of days early and drive to Yosemite on the way to Reno and Lake Tahoe on the way back. We would also go back to San Francisco to run the Bay to Breakers race before flying home.

Photo: While the Queen was judging the contest the King flew to Henderson NV to visit his aunt and uncle (Helen and Joe) who live there. It was just after mother's day and his two cousins were visiting from Los Angeles. He had not seen his cousins in a long time. Unfortunately, cousin Howard had to return to LA and he only got to have breakfast with him and his sister Cheryl.
Photo: The contest participants and judges stayed in a large casino hotel next to the convention center. This was the view from our room.
Photo: The King and Queen took a hike one morning with the head (Elizabeth) of Society for Science and the Public. They do the logistics for the contests.
