JERUSALEM 1
In the past when we travel to Israel we always stay in a VRBO type apartment. This time because of the Passover holiday and everyone coming here we could not find an apartment in the area we like to stay. We did find a room at a hotel right off Jaffa Road that had recently opened. The cost was very reasonable and it was clean and new. This is the view from our room. That is Jaffa Road where the tram runs.
We arrived early enough to venture into the old city. We were glad we brought our coats since it was only 48 degrees. This is the walkway to the Jaffa Gate entrance.
The Queen waking into the main shopping street near the Jaffa Gate.
In the old city we wandered around until we found an Arab falafel restaurant - Tala. The reason we picked an Arab one is that they would have pita bread. Although this had a good review it was not very good. The pita tasted like white bread.. it was not spicy, there was no tahini and no onions.
On the way back we passed a huge radio on Jaffa Road. It actually worked and you could dial in various stations. The King is trying to find a 60s rock and roll station.
