TEL AVIV 2
Morgan had arrived the night before and had found the apartment we had rented for him. It was about two blocks from where we were staying. His friend from Switzerland, Iliana had also come yesterday. She had been in Israel with him when he moved here and she was the first person he met in his Ulpan class. She has two children but no husband and moved back to Switzerland where her parents lived. We made plans to meet them for breakfast but they called and said they were running late???? After breakfast we rented bicycles and rode up the Tayelet. We stopped at one of the many exercise places and Hynda demonstrated her planking ability.
Not sure what this says but obviously you need to train your dog to go to the toilet.
We continued further north and crossed the Yarkon River on the very north end of Tel Aviv where the beach is less crowded.
We stopped for lunch and had some Israeli beer.
The Israelis love to be outside and here was an impromptu dance session going on.
Along the beach we ran across these free libraries. Israelis love to read. We have free little libraries all over DC now but they are small. These are large.
This is a delivery motorcycle for McDonalds.
Goldstar beer has been in Israel since 1950. It was the first draft beer developed in Israel.
At night we went to eat at Shtsupak - a fish restaurant. It was up Ben Yehuda Street and a short walk from our apartment. It is #60 of 1313 restaurants in Tel Aviv. We had delicious salads to start and then had sea bass and trout. Our waitress was awful and dropped a full tray of dishes on Morgan.
